We have made it! This week we have reached the end of our CSS module.

With the dedicated effort of the instructors and the mentors, HTML5 and CSS3 topics were delivered to our participants at a good level. Each week 3 hours of theory classes, 2 hours of code review sessions, 2-3 hours of lab sessions, plus the mentor sessions with small groups (3-5 people) we were able to cover all topics in depth from different angles.

Since August, we have focused on semantic web and CSS layout techniques with our new participants using this learning approach. Each week with two small assignments (a total of more than 20 tasks in the last 2 modules), we have the ambition to promote the programming skills of our participants. In addition, we interpreted the returned assignments from individual participants and gave them valuable feedback to measure and further encourage their development.

Of course, the courses were not only technology-based, but the methodology and techniques were specifically demonstrated in the approach to topics or problems. Our participants know what disciplines are currently needed for a modern web design. We have partially adopted and applied these sub-processes in our projects so far. For example, they learned about approaches such as ideation, wireframing, design systems, semantic layout, layout techniques/technologies in css and techniques for modular css (BEM, smacss) and found the opportunity to apply them in their own tasks. One of the last tasks was to create a design pixel-wise similar to “Facebook login page”. In this task they applied the above mentioned techniques, technologies and methods to reach the defined goal.
With their current level of knowledge, our participants have almost reached the level we can call intermediate in web design. Of course, there is still more to learn, but we will cover these advanced topics in the upcoming modules where they are really needed practically.

It was an intense and challenging period, both for us and especially for our participants. Throughout this period, we as administration & operations group have been very motivated to see the current progress of our participants and this further boosts our anticipation for the next modules.

Thank you very much all for your passion or motivation!
