What a great place! We met for the first Bootcamp of this year's Fullstack Web Programming course on 10 September in Olten. The highly motivated participants created a website and a webshop and optimised their LinkedIn profiles.
The participants arrived in Olten on Saturday morning from Basel, St. Gallen, Lucerne, Aargau, Vaud, Geneva, or Ticino. After a joint breakfast, it was straight down to business. With the help of the HiCoders mentors and instructors, the students solved challenging assignments. For example, they had to create a fully responsive website and webshop in CSS and HTML within a given time.
The participants didn’t let the beautiful view from the course room of the Arkadis Foundation distract them from their tasks. In addition to the great location with its excellent infrastructure, the participants especially enjoyed the exchange with each other and with the HiCoders mentors and instructors.
In the afternoon, the focus was on proper online self-presentation. In a workshop, the participants received helpful tips on how to optimise their LinkedIn profiles and immediately applied their new knowledge.
