It was a great experience! We were coding from Friday at 5 p.m. until Sunday at 5 a.m. to create applications for HackZurich. We made teams that each tackled a different challenge.
Working through 36 hours at a stretch – that’s what our teams did at Europe’s biggest hackathon. On Friday 16 September, two teams from HiCoders met up with a team from the non-profit association Designbees in Volketswil to take part in HackZurich.
Companies from various industries such as Migros, Siemens, or Schindler set challenges for which elegant solutions had to be found. One HiCoders team dedicated itself to the task of developing a platform to motivate people to volunteer. The second team developed an application that might make lift rides more enjoyable.
Unfortunately, it was not enough for an award. But the great experience and all the new things learned were rewarding enough. The participants agreed that they would like to program again at HackZurich 2023.
