According to data from the Swiss Labour Force Survey ( SAKE), the share of women in the ICT sector is around 15 percent. This means that one of the most important industries of the future is currently dominated by men. This poses both economic and social risks. HiCoders wants to counteract this and focuses on encouraging girls at an early age. Girls should be encouraged to take up the so-called MINT subjects (mathematics, information technology, natural sciences, technology) while they are still young.
We want to spark the interest of girls and young women with a migration background in information and communication technologies and thereby contribute to gender-equitable digitization in Switzerland. Girls and young women should be consciously taught how to think abstractly and analytically. They will also learn how to use new technologies and media responsibly. Participants are thus enabled to deal with new technologies and to adapt to new developments.
Participants who have attended at least 70% of the classroom sessions and passed the final examination receive a certificate of completion.
Girls and young women from the age of 11 from all over Switzerland. Boys and young men are also admitted on request.
The next course will start in September 2023 in Winterthur.
Every week (except during school holidays), 10 double lessons in total.
We have courses in Bern, Lucerne, Olten and Winterthur.
CHF 250.- Swiss francs per participant
